41 West Nashville Students Honored for Character and Academic Achievement

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 25) – Greater Nashville REALTORS®’ Public Education Committee welcomed 41 students from H.G. Hill Middle Prep into the “Pride of the Panthers” program with a special ceremony Jan. 10.

Following each nine-week grading period, the trade association works with the school to recognize outstanding students. At the ceremony, students receive special recognition in front of their fellow students, teachers and parents.

“Schools and housing are more closely related than many realize, with both having positive impacts on the other,” said Greater Nashville REALTORS® President Sher Powers. “For REALTORS®, anytime we are able to support schools, and especially students, we are eager to get involved. We are especially grateful for the wonderful relationship we have with H.G. Hill Middle and the PENCIL Foundation.”

Recipients of the Pride of the Panther award are nominated by an H.G. Hill Middle teacher or staff member. Nominations are based on both the student’s academic achievement, as well as their character and positive attitude

“Our students work hard to be their best, both personally and academically,” said Dr. Carrie Jones, H.G. Hill Middle Prep Principal. “Each student is excited to receive a Pride of the Panther award. Having their hard work recognized by not just the faculty and staff of H.G. Hill Middle, but also by our PENCIL partner, is an honor for these students. It motivates both these honorees and their fellow students to continue to strive for excellence.”

Leaders from the REALTOR® association and members of the Public Education Committee presented students with certificates of achievement during the special assembly. Following the assembly, students and their parents are invited to be a part of a special reception. Photos of students are also taken and displayed in the school’s lobby.
