NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 4, 2017) – Greater Nashville REALTORS® has named Cindy Stanton of Parks as the 2016 Realtor of the Year, according to association President Scott Troxel.
The Realtor of the Year award is given annually to the association’s Realtor member who has made the most significant contribution to their clients, the real estate profession and the community. Stanton received the honor for her commitment to the association and the real estate industry at the association’s annual Awards of Excellence Gala held Saturday, March 4, at the Omni Hotel in downtown Nashville. She was presented the award by the 2015 recipient, Mike McKee.
“Cindy’s professionalism and passion for this industry are exactly the types of qualities a Realtor of the Year exudes,” said Greater Nashville REALTORS President Scott Troxel. “She is the epitome of a Greater Realtor, invested in her business, association, community and clients. She is valued and respected by both the newest agents and veterans of this business, which speaks volumes to the person and professional she is.”
Stanton has nearly 20 years of experience in the real estate business, as both an agent and a managing broker. She has been a member of the association since 1998, serving on multiple committees, as well as the board of directors. She is a graduate of the 2009 class of Leadership GNAR program and the 2016 class of the National Association of REALTORS’ Leadership Academy.
She became interested in advocacy after running for student body president in high school at the encouragement of her father and continues that interest by currently co-chairing the association’s Legislative/Realtors Political Action Committee. She led Greater Nashville REALTORS as their president in 2015 and currently serves as a Division 2 Vice President for Tennessee REALTORS.
Stanton built her business on REO and foreclosures, which was an unusual niche at the time. When the recession began in 2008, she was the go-to person for consumers and other agents on these types of properties. She has also become a respected expert on financing issues nationally.
Stanton is also involved in her community. The Make a Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity and CASA Nashville are just a few of the charitable organizations she supports. Stanton is a native of Memphis and has lived in Nashville for 22 years. Together she and her husband, William, have four children; and, she has a slightly internet famous French Bulldog, Pearl. In her free time, you’ll find Stanton enjoying the great outdoors, most likely on the water.
