REALTORS® Remain a Resource After the Transaction

REALTORS® are “in the know,” and not just about real estate. We’re in the know about communities, businesses and more. While we’re known to send business to other agents and to refer our clients to service providers related to the transaction, our proficiency goes further. 

A REALTORS® knowledge is expected to go beyond just the basics of real estate. As industry professionals, we invest beyond the transaction into the people and communities in which we serve. We know what’s happening in those areas, and the different services and businesses each has to offer. 

REALTORS® can, and do, refer clients to mortgage lenders, home inspectors, home stagers, moving companies and more. But what about after the transaction? Our clients, especially those who are relocating from other parts of the city or other areas, often want to know where to go and what to do in their new location. 

Many agents create a niche in their business by becoming an expert on a particular city, community or even neighborhood. We get asked many questions about the actual real estate transaction, but receive more questions about where to shop, eat or play. REALTORS® can tell you about restaurants for dining out, grocery stores for when you’re dining in and caterers for throwing a party. 

We can recommend dry cleaners, carpet cleaners and house cleaners. We know painters, landscapers, carpenters and pest services. We can refer you to a hair stylist, a dentist or a pediatrician. We can also direct you to places of worship, community centers, parks and more. 

Being a real estate professional means being an expert on more than the transaction. While we serve as a guide through the purchase or sale, we are still a resource after the closing. Knowing the communities we work in allows us to not only better match our clients with the best property, but it also enables us to connect them with the community and services that will support and enrich their new home.
